I purchased GenSmarts yesterday, so can be considered a "newbie" with the way the program works... The genealogy program I use is Rootsmagic.
I am currently using Rootsmagic's color coding to mark all individuals based on specific criteria (in this case everyone who has census citations) in order to update those citations to an online source such as those at FamilySearch.org or Ancestry.com
Is there a chance that GenSmarts can eventually read this color coding in order to filter the research suggestions, or add criteria choices such as the above to the normal filtering choices?
At the moment I don't see an easy way to filter only for census records, though I have not "played" with the program enough to see if it would be possible.

There are a couple of different ways of doing this, but the simplest is probably to just type the word CENSUS in the <=SEARCH box. If you don't see that input box, turn it on using VIEW...ADVANCED TO DO LIST DISPLAY...
