I've just upgraded to the most recent version of both GenSmarts and TMG. GenSmarts worked great with TMG pre-upgrade. The installation of GenSmarts went fine, but when I try to open my file, it starts metering the opening...then Windows reports that GenSmarts has encountered a problem and needs to close: error signature Appname: gsengine.exe appver: 1.1.1.30 modname: vfpodbc.dll modver: 6.1.8629.1 offset: 0008b977

I have a screenshot. My TMG file has been optimized, validated, and reoptimized. It's big.I've tried reinstalling. no luck. What next?

What version of Windows are you using?

Assuming it's at least XP (or newer), install Microsoft's VFPOLEDB driver for GenSmarts to use in accessing TMG's Foxpro files ( http://www.GenSmarts.com/foxpro.asp ). The error indicates the older Windows Foxpro driver you're using ( VFPODBC ) had some sort of critical failure or corruption.

If that doesn't fix it, use GenSmarts TOOLS...WINDOWS COMPONENT CHECKER... and email the results along with a decription of the error to support@GenSmarts.com

I saw your related post:

Probably goes without saying, but you should probably get your files working with TMG first, then deal with any GenSmarts related issues.

OK, done.

Agreed. However, no answer yet on how to do that in the TMG forum. Meanwhile, proceeding as directed here.

I did the FoxPro update, as suggested.

Now I have a different error in GenSmarts, as it is analyzing the file.

Error loading file. (EOleException) [Memo file C:.....\TMG\7\tmgfilename_S is missing or is invalid]

This error is somewhat more similar to the Memo file error I am getting when I try to open my file in TMG. I still await a response in TMG Forum.

Yeah, sounds like a structural issue with your database, so hopefully the TMG folks will be able to steer you in the right direction.

FYI - you probably already know this, but to get formal support you usually have to email TMG support. Forums are generally just used for discussion between customers.
