SSDI and RootsMagic issue

Can you please provide me with the information required that would allow GenSmarts to recognize SSDI facts for people in my RM3 database?

I use the Soc Sec Num setting in RM3 to enter the SSDI number, which, I believe, abbreviates to SSN.

Yet, GenSmarts still says that I need to obtain this information.

This is a minor issue, but I rely on it to keep up to date with obtaining these numbers for my databases.

thank you.

This recent forum post describes how to change your data or GenSmarts settings to satisfy the test to see if the SSDI is sourced:

Of course, you'll need to adapt the above information to your specifics.

I have put the following in the *.ini

SSDIMustMatch=Soc Sec no

SSDIMustMatch=SSN

SSDIMustMatch=Social Security Number

And GenSmarts still does not recognize SSDI!!

I look in RootsMagic 3.2.6, and see that the fact type is shown as

Soc Sec no, another area shows it as SSN, and a description is shown

as Social Security Number.

That is why I have all three included. Any other RootsMagic users with this same issue?

I really would like to resolve this issue.

Thank you for any reply that helps me to resolve this.

I believe it's what RootsMagic calls the "abbreviation" that is matched by the SSDIMustMatch parameter.

FYI - You can't have multiple ini file entries like you are showing... only one of them will be used - the other two will be ignored.

I assume you have Version 2... Version 1 doesn't support SSDI recognition.
