I have the GenSmart Version 1074 (MyFamily.com Edition)

What's the difference between the MyFamily Version and the GenSmart's GenSmart version ?

When I brought it there was no mention of a difference or that I would not be able to get updates to the program. Is the MyFamily version a rip off ?

GenSmarts For MyFamily, Inc. reads Family Tree Maker, Ancestry Family Tree, and Gedcom files. It's only available on CD. There's no trial version.

GenSmarts (from GenSmarts.com) reads those files, plus PAF, TMG, Legacy, RootsMagic, Ancestral Quest... the list is shown on the FAQ page at http://www.GenSmarts.com/faq.html The product is available for download or on CD (plus download too).

Other than the product form and the file types, the products are the same.

Free downloadable upgrades are provided for both versions. Version 1074 is the latest version available at the moment for GenSmarts For MyFamily, Inc.

To switch from the MyFamily.com edition to the full edition, you can purchase a "conversion CD" from our store. The cost is 14.95 plus $5 shipping.
