I have FTM vs. 11 and I have several different family files. I also have one of my family files in PAF 5. How do I get Gen Smarts to go to the different files?

You can open files with GenSmarts just like you do Family Tree Maker and most other windows software - using the FILE menu bar command.

When you're in GenSmarts... look in the upper left hand corner... you'll see the word FILE in the "menu bar". Press it and a drop down menu will appear... select OPEN...

You'll then be given a standard windows "file navigation" dialog that will allow you to navigate your computers hard disks and directories to locate any file you'd like to open. Simply double click on it when you find it and that will return the name to GenSmarts and proceed with the open.
