FTM 2007-2010 uses "De Kalb" as the name for DeKalb County, Missouri. This appears to be an error in FTM, confusing De Kalb city and DeKalb county (based on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Kalb,_Missouri and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeKalb_County,_Missouri). However, since FTM only recognizes De Kalb and not DeKalb at the moment as a valid place, GenSmarts should recognize what is meant by those place names and correct it. Currently, for all places in "De Kalb" county GenSmarts ignores the misspelled county and uses "Missouri, USA"

Ditto for DeKalb, Tennessee and most other DeKalb places. DeKalb, Ill. was named after Johann DeKalb, a German Baron a Revolutionary War hero.
